What CronVault is
CronVault is software: a website and a set of smart contracts on Arbitrum that let you lock digital assets in a vault that releases them on a schedule you define. CronVault does not take custody of assets and does not act as a trustee, executor, bank, broker or payment service. Nothing on the website is legal, tax or financial advice.
Eligibility
You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live and be allowed to use these services under the laws that apply to you, including sanctions laws. Do not use CronVault if you are a sanctioned person or located in a sanctioned jurisdiction.
Your responsibilities
- Keeping your wallet, private keys and seed phrase safe. Nobody, including us, can recover them.
- Checking every rule before you sign. An irrevocable plan cannot be changed, cancelled or refunded once deployed.
- Entering correct beneficiary addresses. Funds paid to a wrong address cannot be recovered.
- Telling your beneficiaries how and when to claim, and that unclaimed periods are forfeited.
- Any taxes, reporting duties and legal formalities that apply to you and your beneficiaries.
Not a legal will
A CronVault plan is a technical arrangement. It does not replace a will or other estate-planning document made under the law, does not by itself transfer legal ownership on death, and does not settle inheritance claims or disputes. Courts and laws may treat the assets differently from what the vault does. Consult a qualified lawyer for legal effect.
Risks
Using blockchain software carries significant risks, including software bugs, loss of keys, network failures, token freezes and price volatility, as described on the Security & risks page. You use CronVault at your own risk.
Fees
CronVault currently charges no fees. You pay the network (gas) fees for the transactions you send. Fees can never be added to a vault that is already deployed, because its code cannot change.
No warranty
The website and contracts are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and uninterrupted availability. The website may change or stop at any time; deployed vaults keep running on-chain.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developers and operators of CronVault are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of assets, profits or data arising from your use of the website or the contracts — including losses caused by bugs, user error, forfeited periods, or third-party networks and tokens.
Third-party services
Wallets, RPC providers, block explorers, the Arbitrum network and token issuers are run by third parties under their own terms. We are not responsible for them.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above shows the current version. A change to these terms never changes the rules of a vault that is already deployed.
